Assam Board (AHSEC) HS Results 2016 Declared at 10 am today @ahsec.nic.in

AHSEC HS 2016 results: Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has announced the Higher Secondary (Class 12) results 2016 on June 2 at 10 am on their official website.

In this year’s higher secondary exam, about 2,54,860 students have appeared.

This year’s Council examination was in news when Physics and Biology question paper were leaked in February.

US elections: Barack Obama says the Democratic nominee will be clear next week

President Barack Obama said on Wednesday he expected the winner of the Democratic presidential nominating race would be clear next week after Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders compete in races in California and New Jersey.

“I think that there has been a healthy debate in the Democratic Party, and it’s almost over,” Obama said during a town hall-style event broadcast by PBS.

People will “probably have a pretty good sense next week,” of who the nominee will be, Obama said.

Clinton, a former US secretary of state, is the front-runner in the Democratic race. Sanders, a US senator from Vermont, lags her in the number of delegates needed to wrap up the nomination.

California and New Jersey, which both have large numbers of delegates up for grabs, hold their votes next Tuesday.

Obama has not endorsed either candidate in the Democratic race, though he has made clear his affection and admiration for Clinton, who was his opponent in the 2008 Democratic nominating race. Obama appointed Clinton as his secretary of state after winning the presidential election that year.

Sonia Gandhi writes to Modi, wants PM Awas Yojna renamed after Indira Gandhi

Sonia brought the resolution in a meeting of the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee she chaired in Rae Bareli, her Lok Sabha constituency.

Amidst ongoing controversy over renaming of the government schemes launched by the previous UPA dispensation, Congress president Sonia Gandhi Wednesday brought a resolution against renaming of the Indira Awas Yojna as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna. The resolution, that will be sent to Narendra Modi government at Centre, recommending that the decision should be reverted.
Sonia brought the resolution in a meeting of the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee she chaired in Rae Bareli, her Lok Sabha constituency. The resolution was unanimously adopted by all the members, including four MLA’s of the Samajwadi Party.

“Sonia Gandhi brought a proposal regarding renaming of Indira Awas Yojana. It was discussed that apart from being the former Prime Minister of the country, Indira Gandhi had also represented Rae Bareli in the Parliament and thus renaming of the scheme named after her should be opposed from here. All of us agreed and the resolution will now be sent to the Centre,” said Manoj Pandey, SP MLA from Unchahar Assembly seat and also a minister in UP cabinet.

District Magistrate Suryapal Gangwar confirmed the move and said the resolution will be sent to the central government for consideration.

Meanwhile, Pandey claimed that during the meeting he also raised the issue of work on AIIMS in Rae Bareli not progressing further. He said the decrease in the flow of funds from Centre for welfare schemes and development works in Rae Bareli was also condemned in the meeting. “Our Chief Minister has given them (Centre) land worth Rs 1,000 crore free of cost for the AIIMS. While efforts of the UP government in providing help to farmers affected with hailstorm was praised in the meeting, the decrease in release of funds by Centre was condemned,” said Pandey. Apart from the vigilance committee meeting, Sonia also met public at Bhuvemau guest house and later held a four-hour long meeting with the officials at Vikas Bhawan. DM Gangwar, who was earlier asked to address the water crisis, made a presentation before Sonia informing her that out of about 60,000 handpumps installed in the district, about 20,000 were found to be non-functional in a survey. He further informed that out of these 20,000, about 15,000 have been repaired. “The MP (Sonia) had written to me about two months ago on the water crisis and we have been able to address it to a greater extent,” the DM said. Meanwhile, sources informed that Sonia allotted five solar powered pumps to each Assembly segment in Rae Bareli from MPLAD fund.

Violence against Africans: Shake hands, tell them India loves them, Sushma urges Indians

"I appeal to fellow Indians. Next time you meet an African citizen, pl shake hand and say 'India loves you'," the minister tweeted.

Under pressure over what is being seen as a rise in the attacks against African nationals in the country, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has appealed to Indians to stretch out a hand of friendship to them, quite literally.

In a tweet Thursday morning, Swaraj urged Indians to shake hands with African nationals and tell them we love them.

“I appeal to fellow Indians. Next time you meet an African citizen, pl shake hand and say ‘India loves you’,” the minister said.

On Tuesday, Swaraj met with the family of Congolese national Masonda Kitanda Olivier saying as a mother, she understood the “pain of a mother who loses a son on foreign soil”.

Swaraj, however, refused to characterise the death of Congolese national Masonda Kitanda Olivier as a racist attack, and invoked Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi to convey that India can “never have a racist mindset”. Read more about that, here.

Substantiating her argument that it was not a racial attack, Swaraj said: “All criminal acts should not be construed as racial attacks. As the CCTV footage of the incident in question showed, this was an act committed by goons who also thrashed the Indian bystanders who had attempted to intervene to save Mr Olivier. Delhi Police immediately swung into action after the unfortunate incident. Two of the perpetrators of the crime have already been apprehended, while a search is on for the third person.”

Life Journey Of The Missile Man Of India : A.P.J Abdul Kalam

1. Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 to a Tamil Muslim family in the pilgrimage centre of Rameswaram on Pamban Island, then in the Madras Presidency and now in the State of Tamil Nadu. His father's name was Jainulabudeen, a boat owner, and his mother Ashiamma, a housewife. 
   
2. By his early childhood, Kalam's family had become poor; at an early age, he started working to supplement his family's income. After completing school, Kalam distributed newspapers to contribute to his father's income.
   
3. After graduating from the Madras Institute of Technology in 1960, Kalam joined the Aeronautical Development Establishment of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as a scientist. He started his career by designing a small helicopter for the Indian Army.
   
4. Kalam was also part of the INCOSPAR committee working under Vikram Sarabhai, the renowned space scientist. In 1969, Kalam was transferred to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) where he was the project director of India's first Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV-III)
   
5. Kalam served as the Chief Scientific Adviser to the Prime Minister and the Secretary of the Defence Research and Development Organisation from July 1992 to December 1999. The Pokhran-II nuclear tests were conducted during this period in which he played an intensive political and technological role. Kalam served as the Chief Project Coordinator, along with Rajagopala Chidambaram, during the testing phase.
   
6. Kalam served as the 11th President of India, succeeding K. R. Narayanan. He won the 2002 presidential election with an electoral vote of 922,884, surpassing the 107,366 votes won by Lakshmi Sahgal. His term lasted from 25 July 2002 to 25 July 2007.
   
7. After leaving office, Kalam became a visiting professor at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, and the Indian Institute of Management Indore; an honorary fellow of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; chancellor of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Thiruvananthapuram; professor of Aerospace Engineering at Anna University.
   
8. In May 2012, Kalam launched a programme for the youth of India called the What Can I Give Movement, with a central theme of defeating corruption. He also enjoyed writing Tamil poetry and playing the veenai, a South Indian string instrument.
   
9. Kalam has received honorary doctorates from 40 universities. The Government of India has honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 1981 and the Padma Vibhushan in 1990 for his work with ISRO and DRDO and his role as a scientific advisor to the Government.
   
10. On 27 July 2015, Kalam travelled to Shillong to deliver a lecture on "Creating a Livable Planet Earth" at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong. At around 6:35 p.m. IST, only five minutes into his lecture, he collapsed. Despite being placed in the intensive care unit, Kalam was confirmed dead of a sudden cardiac arrest.
